Stunning! The movement and energy you capture here . . . wow!
I actually really like the background in this piece, and feel like it adds more texture to the work than some of your other paintings, possibly as a result of not having to wait for the oil to dry. I love that the little bits of red get to peek through, and love the way they bounce off of and compliment the blue, as well as the skintones used. I really enjoy the sort of... peace... that I feel from this painting, despite the fact that it also has a purposefulness and energy to it that suggests movement. It seems almost as though the peace I feel, is the peace that the diver/gymnast must have been feeling mid-flight. This is a wonderful image, thank you so much for sharing.
i think your painting is wonderful.. do you run into problems with having an acrylic underpainting .. like cracking later.. ? firstname.lastname@example.org

I don't think there should be problems with oil over acrylic, however problems can occur if you paint acrylic over oil.
I absolutely love the energy of your work, David, and its looseness and vibrancy!!!!
